AmarA's Photo Essay
for the Discovery Center

Picture
...there was an artist seeking a position at a magical children's playground.

She had chosen not to have kids, but she loved children and loved creating to make them smile, make them think, and help them learn.

She also loved music.
She could only play the ukulele
- and not even that very well -
but she loved how creative music made her feel.

After exploring the world a little, the artist ended up in her home town creating sets for opera singers.
She made models and painted and was surrounded by music day and night.

But sadly and secretly (I know you won't tell) she did not really LIKE opera music.
Some, now and then, yes, but every day and every night was too much.
Really she liked David Bowie and Dresden Dolls and Tori Amos and Maggie Rose.

Her independent art became more inventive and she became well known in her town, but it was not enough to buy groceries every week.
